Eight weeks out — lock the plan
- Pick your kickoff date and theme; get the sermon series or semester title final enough to design against.
- Inventory what survived last year: feather flags, tent, A-frames, welcome signs. Faded or dated pieces go on the reorder list.
- One conversation with your print partner covering everything below — one quote beats six rushed ones.
Six weeks out — the big outdoor pieces
- Order banners, feather flags, and any campus signage (these need the longest lead time).
- Approve artwork proofs the same week you get them — every day a proof sits is a day off your buffer.
Four weeks out — invitations
- Order EDDM invite mailers if you're reaching the neighborhood — postal logistics add a week.
- Order connect cards and any new-guest materials to match the fall theme.
Three weeks out — people pieces
- Volunteer and staff shirts ordered (sizes collected first — a pre-order store saves the size-chasing).
- Kids ministry check-in signage and classroom door signs.
Two weeks out — the details
- Yard signs for members' lawns and directional signs for parking.
- Print the fall sermon series bulletins/program shells.
Launch week
- Walk the property like a first-time guest: from the road, can you tell something is happening here? That's what the flags are for.
- Photograph everything installed — you'll want it for next year's planning (and we'd love to see it).
